I inherited my Dad's mid 1990s 828D. I believe that vintage was built by Ariens (I would think it would compare to an Ariens Professional today). It has a black 8 HP Tecumseh. It is a stout machine; in fact the construction is very similar to his Ariens from the mid 1960s which I used as a kid and my Dad had for about 30 yrs.
